- Introduction
- 1 Peter 5:8 - Satan (Adversary) behaves as a lion
- Revelation 5:5 - Jesus is the Lion of Tribe of Judah (King of Kings)
- Lions compete to rule a pride and for the posession of the females. Just as Satan and Jesus are competing for
us. We know the winner of the fight but do we still give our attention to what the wrong Lion has to offer.
- The conflict begins
- Matthew 25:33-34 - God planned all of this before the earth was formed. Thus the conflict between Satan and God's plan
(Christ's sacrifice for our sins) began before the earth was formed.
- Gen 3:14-15 - The conflict is first mentioned. The seed of the woman is Christ who suffered (heel injury). But the
ultimate defeat of Satan will come by Christ (head injury)
- Old Testament conflict - Seeking whom he may devour
- Gen 12:1-3 - The reference to all families of the earth being blessed is pointing to Christ being of this seed.
This gets narrowed down to Judah in Genesis 49:8-10. Satan therefore focuses his attention to this seed.
- Exo 1:1-22 - Captivity by Egypt and proclamation to kill all males
- Num 13:31-33 - The promised land is filled with intimidation
- 2Sa 7:12-13 - God identifies Christ as the seed of David. Knowing this now, let's see how Satan has focused his efforts
on the line of David.
- Saul disobeys God and spares Agag - 1Sa 15:9-11 (we'll come back to how this fits into Satan's plan)
- Saul tries to destroy David - 1Sa 19:1
- Giants hunt David down - 2Sa 21:16-22
- Jeconiah receives bloodcurse - Jer 22:24-30 ; Luke 3:23-38
(seed of the woman and still the line of David but not including Jeconiah)
- The Kingdoms of Israel fall to Babylon
- Haman the Agagite attempts Jewish genocide - Est 3:1-6 (from the line of King Agag whom Saul spared)
- New Testament conflict

- Herod and the children - Mat 2:13-16
- Temptation of Christ - Mat 4:1-11
- Men of Nazareth and the cliff - Luke 4:16-30
- Perilous waters - Mark 4, Luke 8
- Christ's death and suffering - Mat 27,28
- Conflict continues
- principalities and seducing spirits - Eph 6:10-12

- Handling Lions
