    1. Are the outward displays of Christian fads or styles necessary? Are they pretentious in nature or are they ways to witness to others? The question isn't whether these things are wrong, but instead: where is your heart when you display them?
  2. Christian Fads/Styles
    1. WWJD
      1. 2 Peter 3:1-2 - The scriptures keep us mindful.
      2. Acts 20:35 - The Acts of the apostles cause us to remember the Lord's words.
      3. Luke 22:19 - The Lord's Supper is a rememberance
      4. John 14:25-26 - Most of all we have the Spirit and he is the remembrance that is with us at all times.
    2. Prayer of Jabez
      1. 1 Chronicles 4:9-10 - The prayer (evil in this prayer means earthly harm)
      2. Matthew 6:5-13 - How we should pray. Notice that Jesus only prays for what the body needs and that evil in this prayer refers to the Devil's temptation
      3. James 5:16 - Prayer for one another.
      4. 1 John 5:14-15 - According to his will. Is it his will to always expand our earthly wealth.
      5. Matthew 19:23-24 - Earthly wealth can be a curse to man.
      6. Luke 16:13-14 - If you are praying the Jabez prayer everyday then your heart is probably in the wrong place.
      7. Matthew 6:25-34 - Take no thought for your earthly needs, but focus on the Kingdom.

    3. Matthew 6:16-21 - Outward appearance of doing good. Where is your heart?
    4. Matthew 15:7-9 - Worshiping in vain
    5. Matthew 23:5-8 - Desires to be seen and to be important
    6. Matthew 23:27-28 - The inside is what is important
  4. How to "display" your christianity
    1. Colossians 3:17 - Word and Deed.
    2. Matthew 5:14-16 - These works are done with love in our hearts and not as a show or something as easily donned as a T-shirt, Bumper Sticker, or jewelry.
    3. Romans 13:11-14 - Putting on Christ.
    4. Ephesians 5:6-11 - Openly deter evil
    5. 1 Peter 2:9-15 - We are peculiar people and act as such
    6. 1 Timothy 2:9-10 - Not what we wear but what we do
  5. Conclusion
    1. 1 Peter 3:1-5 - We should all learn a lesson from what Peter asks of the women.
