In light of the things that have been happening lately, I've been trying to find Scriptures that bring comfort to us. I have broken it down into 4 categories of what brings us comfort.

trying to find Scriptures that bring comfort to us. I have broken it
down into 4 categories of what brings us comfort.
1.) God's Word Comforts Ps.119:50 Ps. 23:1-6 God's Word comforts us. We can look in here and find endless verses that bring us comfort, depending on what we're going thru. 1 Cor. 14:3 We as speakers, need to be able to find comfort in the Bible, and share that when we preach. 2.) The Holy Ghost comforts John 14:16-18 Christ said that God would send a Comforter. Well, who is that comforter? John 14:26 Being taught, and having things being brought into our remembrance is comforting to us. Acts 9:31 Here we find proof that God sent the Comforter as promised. We are Comforted by the Holy Ghost 3.) We comfort each other Gen. 37:34-35a Here we have an example of family comforting each other in times of trouble Job 2:11-13 Here we have an example of friends comforting each other John 11:19 Here, it was Jews in general. Kind of like an extended family. Kinda like the church. We are to comfort one another. 1 Thess. 5:11 Why? 1 Cor. 12:26 If someone in the Body of Christ is suffering, it is our duty to try to comfort them. As fellow members of the body, we will be suffering as well. So until they are comforted, we wont be comforted. 2 Cor. 7:13 But when they are comforted, we are comforted. Whether one member suffer, we all suffer. Whether one member rejoiceth, we all rejoice. Phil. 2:1-4 We are to always be there for each other, no matter what. 1 Thess. 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. But we dont need to be like Jobs friends. They went there to comfort him, but failed in their attempts. 4.) God comforts 2Cor. 1:3-7 God is the God of ALL comfort. He comforts us. We get comfort from God, so that we can comfort each other. When we suffer, for whatever reason, God is there to comfort us. 2 Cor. 7:6 Again, God comforts those who are troubled 2 Thess. 2:16-17 God has given us everlasting consolation and he comforts our hearts. Ps.71:21 God is there for us, and will surround us, if we allow him to. Phil. 4:6-9 If we think on these things, we will have comfort. Mt. 11:28-30 We find comfort in serving God. Mt 21:22 If we pray to God for comfort, he will give it to us. 2Cor.13:11 If we do these things, God will be with us, and comfort us.
