Baptism is the point of admittance into Christ Body. It washes away your past sins and as you arise from baptism, you are born again to begin life anew in Christ. Matthew 28:19 ? The Great Commission commands baptism. Mark 16:16 ? He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. Acts 2:37-38 ? When asked what to do, Peter said to be baptized for remission of sins. Acts 2:41 ? Thus 3000 people were baptized. Acts 8:12-13 ? Specifically mentioned in this conversion. Acts 8:36-38 ? Phillip baptizes the eunuch. After Phillip expounds upon the Gospel of Christ, the first thing the eunuch asks is "Here is water, what's stopping me from being baptized?" What did Phillip tell him that compelled him to ask this? Especially in a manner that suggests that it was a huge life changing step and not just a ceremonious show of faith. Acts 9:17-18 ? Paul (Saul) is baptized. Acts 16:14-15 ? Lydia and her house. Acts 16:30-34 ? Paul?s guard is converted. Although many want to stop when he asked what to do to be saved and Paul answers, ?believe?. But then it says that he ?spoke unto him the word of the Lord? giving them the plan of Salvation that compelled them to be baptized within that hour. Acts 19:1-5 ? Baptism was important enough to redo if not done for the right reason the first time. Acts 22:16 ? Baptism washes away sins. Romans 6:1-4 ? Baptism is the start of a new life in Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:12-13 ? Baptized is the way we enter the body of Christ. Galatians 3:27 ? The baptized have put on Christ. Implies that the unbaptized have not. Colossians 2:12 ? Baptism is the likeness of Christ death that we have to share. 1 Peter 3:20-21 ? How clearer does Peter have to state it? Baptism is the vessel in which we gain salvation.
